In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Riders on a rocky pass by Francesco Coleman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,360.85), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Coleman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cavalli Nella Campagna Romana, which sold at auction in June 2005 for EUR 11,160.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Riders on a rocky pass von Francesco Coleman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.360,85) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Coleman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cavalli Nella Campagna Romana beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für EUR 11.160,00 versteigert wurde.
