Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Olives, St Jeannet by Frances Hodgkins was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,533.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frances Hodgkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christmas Tree in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 193,291.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Olives, St Jeannet von Frances Hodgkins wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.533,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frances Hodgkins erzielen.
