Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cornish Window by Frances Hodgkins was sold in the 20TH CENTURY BRITISH & IRISH ART auction at Christies in London in November 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,094.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frances Hodgkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christmas Tree in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 193,291.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cornish Window von Frances Hodgkins wurde im November 2004 in der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH & IRISH ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.094,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frances Hodgkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christmas Tree im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 193.291,94).
