Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bloodline, 1999, by Fiona Hall was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 393.60 (€ 242.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fiona Hall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Cross Purpose in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 4,200.00 (€ 2,511.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bloodline, 1999, von Fiona Hall im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 393,60 (€ 242,71) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fiona Hall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Cross Purpose im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 4.200,00 (€ 2.511,50).
