Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cat by Fernando Botero was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 176,400.00 (€ 207,224.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cat von Fernando Botero kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 176.400,00 (€ 207.224,56) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
