Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Pictures including Russian Pictures, which included the work Rochester Harbour by Fernand Marie Eugène Legout-Gérard. The price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,316.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernand Marie Eugène Legout-Gérard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Breton Figures in a Landscape in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 48,639.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Pictures including Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rochester Harbour von Fernand Marie Eugène Legout-Gérard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.316,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernand Marie Eugène Legout-Gérard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Breton Figures in a Landscape im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 48.639,86).
