This work of art by Ferdinand Heilbuth could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction, the work French At Rest Among The Flowers changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,029.29) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ferdinand Heilbuth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Faraway Thoughts in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 39,435.00 (€ 43,806.93).
