Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,146.26). Admittedly, works by Fernand Fonssagrives have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lisa, 1949 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sitting Pretty, Peek-A-Boo Chair, for Esquire, 1956 von Fernand Fonssagrives kam im Februar 2009 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.146,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernand Fonssagrives auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lisa, 1949 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.933,20).
