The work Sommerabend by Ferdinand Dorsch was sold in the Impressionist/Modern Day Sale (immediately following Impressionist/Modern Works on Paper) auction at Christies in London in June 2009. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 42,050.00 (€ 49,344.27), 40% above the upper estimate. With this result, Sommerabend is even the most expensive work of art by Ferdinand Dorsch that we have observed at auctions so far.
