Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shoreline by Felim Egan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,109.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Felim Egan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Foreland, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,361.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shoreline von Felim Egan kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.109,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Felim Egan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Foreland beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.361,17) versteigert wurde.
