Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Drift 1998 by Felim Egan was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,480.00 (€ 5,199.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Felim Egan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Foreland, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,361.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Drift 1998 von Felim Egan wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.480,00 (€ 5.199,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Felim Egan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Foreland beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.361,17) versteigert wurde.
