Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures, which included the work Outside the port of Genoa by Federico Mazzotta. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,876.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Federico Mazzotta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Entertaining The Baby, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,117.04).
