Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Landscape by Fang Shishu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2004, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 191,200.00 (€ 12,411.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Shishu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,330,000.00 (€ 1,183,484.61).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Fang Shishu im April 2004 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 191.200,00 (€ 12.411,06) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fang Shishu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.330.000,00 (€ 1.183.484,61).
