Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2019 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Important Collections of Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from Asia, which included the work Scholar In A Pavilion by Fan Haolin. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 49,560.00 (€ 5,623.39), 24% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Haolin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zhongkui in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 103,281.32).
