In April 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Lunar Chiaroscuro by Fahrelnissa Zeid. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 250,000.00 (€ 287,585.58), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fahrelnissa Zeid have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Break Of The Atom And Vegetal Life in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,741,000.00 (€ 2,016,330.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lunar Chiaroscuro von Fahrelnissa Zeid zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 250.000,00 (€ 287.585,58) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fahrelnissa Zeid auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Break Of The Atom And Vegetal Life im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.741.000,00 (€ 2.016.330,73).
