Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Marché aux fleurs by Eugène Galien-Laloue was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,266.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Galien-Laloue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bouquinistes sur le quai de Tournelle, Paris in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 89,625.00 (€ 99,561.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Marché aux fleurs von Eugène Galien-Laloue im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.410,00 (€ 5.266,32) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugène Galien-Laloue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bouquinistes sur le quai de Tournelle, Paris im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 89.625,00 (€ 99.561,21).
