The work Rencontre de chefs arabes by Eugène Fromentin was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 112,500.00 (€ 125,532.72), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Eugène Fromentin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 639,000.00 (€ 741,194.17).

Die Arbeit Rencontre de chefs arabes von Eugène Fromentin wurde im Juli 2017 in der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 125.532,72) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugène Fromentin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 639.000,00 (€ 741.194,17).
