Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work A youth in oriental costume by Eugène Fromentin for USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,541.69). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Fromentin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 639,000.00 (€ 741,194.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A youth in oriental costume von Eugène Fromentin für USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.541,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugène Fromentin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 639.000,00 (€ 741.194,17).
