Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eugène Fromentin could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Orientalist Sale auction, the work French an Ambush changed hands for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 119,840.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eugène Fromentin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 639,000.00 (€ 741,194.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eugène Fromentin konnte im April 2016 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Orientalist Sale wechselte die Arbeit French an Ambush für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 119.840,38) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugène Fromentin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Windstorm On The Esparto Plains Of The Sahara im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 639.000,00 (€ 741.194,17).
