Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Paysage Au Bord D'Une Rivière, 1852 by Eugène Cuvelier for EUR 3,500.00. This price was achieved in the auction La Photographie IV: The Collection of Marie-Thérèse and André Jammes at Sothebys in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Cuvelier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Village De Rivière' in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
