Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Masked Annunciation by Eugene Berman was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in New York in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,147.50 (€ 1,072.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Backview of Proserpina in Black in May this year with an auction result of USD 68,040.00 (€ 63,863.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Masked Annunciation von Eugene Berman wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.147,50 (€ 1.072,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene Berman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Backview of Proserpina in Black im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.040,00 (€ 63.863,34).
