Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Romeo and Juliet, Prologue by Eugene Berman. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,355.00 (€ 5,005.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Backview of Proserpina in Black in May this year with an auction result of USD 68,040.00 (€ 63,863.34).
