In December last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Dècor de théâtre by Eugene Berman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,575.43), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Backview of Proserpina in Black in May this year with an auction result of USD 68,040.00 (€ 63,863.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dècor de théâtre von Eugene Berman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.575,43) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene Berman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Backview of Proserpina in Black im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.040,00 (€ 63.863,34).
