Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The courtship by Eugen von Blaas was sold in the European Art: 19th Century & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 206,829.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugen von Blaas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Maiden With A Basket Of Roses, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 615,000.00 (€ 540,469.29).

Die Arbeit The courtship von Eugen von Blaas wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion European Art: 19th Century & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 206.829,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugen von Blaas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Maiden With A Basket Of Roses beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 615.000,00 (€ 540.469,29) versteigert wurde.
