Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian dimistella by Ettore Sottsass was auctioned at Sothebys in Dubai in November 2017. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,252.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ettore Sottsass achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composizione di elementi di legno colorato e specchio, il tutto unito da funi di canapa, designed for Galleria Arform, Milan in April 2018 with an auction result of GBP 309,000.00 (€ 351,918.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Italian dimistella von Ettore Sottsass kam im November 2017 bei Sothebys in Dubai zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.252,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ettore Sottsass erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composizione di elementi di legno colorato e specchio, il tutto unito da funi di canapa, designed for Galleria Arform, Milan im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 309.000,00 (€ 351.918,09).
