Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Forest With Deer by Ethelbert White. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,030.78), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ethelbert White have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The level crossing (recto); A sketch of a male nude (verso) in August 2014 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,341.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forest With Deer von Ethelbert White zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.030,78) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ethelbert White auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The level crossing (recto); A sketch of a male nude (verso) im August 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.341,73).
