Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The gateway by Ethelbert White. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,418.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethelbert White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The level crossing (recto); A sketch of a male nude (verso) in August 2014 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,341.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The gateway von Ethelbert White zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.418,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ethelbert White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The level crossing (recto); A sketch of a male nude (verso) im August 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.341,73).
