Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Quiet Stream With Houses In The Background by Ethelbert White was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,306.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethelbert White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The level crossing (recto); A sketch of a male nude (verso) in August 2014 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,341.73).
