Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Travellers at an inn, drinking and smoking on horseback by Esaias van de Velde was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,731.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Esaias van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elegant Company In A Garden in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,953,000.00 (€ 1,896,839.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Travellers at an inn, drinking and smoking on horseback von Esaias van de Velde kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.731,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Esaias van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Elegant Company In A Garden im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.953.000,00 (€ 1.896.839,67).
