Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A wooded landscape with riders approaching a group of gypsies by Esaias van de Velde. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,109.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Esaias van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elegant Company In A Garden in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,953,000.00 (€ 1,896,839.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with riders approaching a group of gypsies von Esaias van de Velde zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.109,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Esaias van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Elegant Company In A Garden im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.953.000,00 (€ 1.896.839,67).
