Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Traveller And His Pack Horse Walking Along A Sandy Path Beside A Stream, A Rickety Wooden Bridge In The Distance With A Second Figure Standing Near A Wooden Crucifix by Esaias van de Velde. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 20,369.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Esaias van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elegant Company In A Garden in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,953,000.00 (€ 1,896,839.67).

Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Traveller And His Pack Horse Walking Along A Sandy Path Beside A Stream, A Rickety Wooden Bridge In The Distance With A Second Figure Standing Near A Wooden Crucifix von Esaias van de Velde zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 20.369,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Esaias van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Elegant Company In A Garden im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.953.000,00 (€ 1.896.839,67).
