Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Cavalry Battle In A Landscape, A Church Beyond by Esaias van de Velde was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,473.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Esaias van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elegant Company In A Garden in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,953,000.00 (€ 1,896,839.67).
