In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction The Scandinavian Sale, which included the work Swedish Vid Havet (By The Sea) by Erling Ärlingsson. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,088.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Erling Ärlingsson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2011 the work Harvest was auctioned for SEK 84,000.00 (€ 9,454.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Scandinavian Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swedish Vid Havet (By The Sea) von Erling Ärlingsson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.088,17) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Erling Ärlingsson konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2011 die Arbeit Harvest für SEK 84.000,00 (€ 9.454,09) versteigert.
