In May 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION, which included the work In The Melbourne Gallery by Eric Thake. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,135.25 (€ 697.84), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Thake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Complete Set of 40 Christmas Cards, 1941-1980 dimensions variable, approximately 15.0 x 20.0cm (each) (Unframed) in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 22,140.00 (€ 18,403.99).

Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Melbourne Gallery von Eric Thake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 1.135,25 (€ 697,84) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Thake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Complete Set of 40 Christmas Cards, 1941-1980 dimensions variable, approximately 15.0 x 20.0cm (each) (Unframed) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 22.140,00 (€ 18.403,99).
