Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION, which included the work Oceania by Eric Thake. It changed hands for a price of AUD 1,195.00 (€ 734.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Thake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Complete Set of 40 Christmas Cards, 1941-1980 dimensions variable, approximately 15.0 x 20.0cm (each) (Unframed) in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 22,140.00 (€ 18,403.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oceania von Eric Thake zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 1.195,00 (€ 734,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Thake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Complete Set of 40 Christmas Cards, 1941-1980 dimensions variable, approximately 15.0 x 20.0cm (each) (Unframed) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 22.140,00 (€ 18.403,99).
