This artwork by En Iwamura achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop auction, the work Mount Sanqingshan sold for HKD 81,900.00 (€ 8,657.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by En Iwamura have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Neo-Jomon: Wild Hair (After Quarantine) in May last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 82 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von En Iwamura erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop wurde die Arbeit Mount Sanqingshan für HKD 81.900,00 (€ 8.657,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 45.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von En Iwamura auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Neo-Jomon: Wild Hair (After Quarantine) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 76.320,94).
