Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Handscroll, ink on paper by Emperor Kangxi was worth HKD 358,500.00 (€ 23,270.73) to a buyer in April 2004. This price was achieved in the auction The Imperial Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emperor Kangxi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 3,068,000.00 (€ 345,461.35).

Die Arbeit Handscroll, ink on paper von Emperor Kangxi war einem Käufer im April 2004 HKD 358.500,00 (€ 23.270,73) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Imperial Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emperor Kangxi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.068.000,00 (€ 345.461,35).
