Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Five Chracter Couplet In Running Script by Emperor Kangxi was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 52,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 224,200.00 (€ 24,675.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emperor Kangxi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 3,068,000.00 (€ 345,461.35).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Five Chracter Couplet In Running Script von Emperor Kangxi im Oktober 2017 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 52.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 224.200,00 (€ 24.675,86) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emperor Kangxi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.068.000,00 (€ 345.461,35).
