It achieved a price of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 18,458.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Guangxu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 68,511.93).

Die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy von Emperor Guangxu kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 18.458,71) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Für andere Arbeiten von Emperor Guangxu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 68.511,93) versteigert wurde.
