This artwork by Emperor Guangxu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2006. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Standard Script sold for HKD 120,000.00 (€ 11,637.13) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emperor Guangxu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 68,511.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emperor Guangxu erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Standard Script für HKD 120.000,00 (€ 11.637,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emperor Guangxu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 68.511,93).
