Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art Part I and Part II Including Property from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections, which included the work Calligraphy by Emperor Guangxu. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,694.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emperor Guangxu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 68,511.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art Part I and Part II Including Property from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Emperor Guangxu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.694,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emperor Guangxu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 68.511,93).
