Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong, which included the work Medusa by Emily Mae Smith. The price achieved of HKD 32,760.00 (€ 3,771.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 24,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Mae Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broom Life in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 12,350,000.00 (€ 1,341,530.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong durch, in der auch die Arbeit Medusa von Emily Mae Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 32.760,00 (€ 3.771,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 24.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Mae Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Broom Life im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.350.000,00 (€ 1.341.530,22).
