Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including German, Austrian & Central European Paintings and The Orientalist Sale, which included the work French King Menthuophis And Queen Nitocris by Émile-Louis Picault. The price achieved of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,638.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Émile-Louis Picault have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Priest And The Scribe in April 2020 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 143,792.79).
