Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,368.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Émile-Louis Picault - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Priest And The Scribe, which sold at auction in April 2020 for GBP 125,000.00 (€ 143,792.79).
