Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Emile Gallé | Cat, Circa 1880 by Émile Gallé was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2020. The price achieved of EUR 1,638.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Gallé achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vase in June 2020 with an auction result of EUR 32,500.00.

Die Arbeit Emile Gallé | Cat, Circa 1880 von Émile Gallé kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.638,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Émile Gallé erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vase im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 32.500,00.
