In June 2018 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle, which included the work Landscape Of The Suburbs Of Tunis by Émile Friant. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 30,000.00 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Émile Friant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Political Discussion in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 212,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape Of The Suburbs Of Tunis von Émile Friant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 30.000,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Émile Friant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Political Discussion im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 212.500,00.
