The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 14 times as high at E Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Friant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Political Discussion in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 212,500.00.

Als die Arbeit Fourteen Prints : A Counsel ; The Fisherman ; The Writing Page ; First Studies ; The Album ; The Bad Soup ; Sketch Page ; Il Bambino ; The Nice Boy ; Self-Portrait ; The Two Printers ; Sketch Page ; The Turban ; The Ancestors von Émile Friant im Juni 2018 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 1.200,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 17.500,00 mehr als 14-mal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Émile Friant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Political Discussion im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 212.500,00.
