In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works, which included the work Austrian in Den Praterauen (The Prater Meadows, Vienna) by Emil Jakob Schindler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 51,650.00 (€ 61,721.67), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emil Jakob Schindler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landschaft bei Hacking (Landscape at Hacking), which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 96,000.00 (€ 142,459.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Austrian in Den Praterauen (The Prater Meadows, Vienna) von Emil Jakob Schindler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 61.721,67) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Emil Jakob Schindler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landschaft bei Hacking (Landscape at Hacking) beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 96.000,00 (€ 142.459,17) versteigert wurde.
