Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian landscape by Emanuel Phillips Fox was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,202.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emanuel Phillips Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Cabbage Patch in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 288,000.00 (€ 177,085.85).
