Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Gum Trees by Emanuel Phillips Fox. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 26,400.00 (€ 15,903.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emanuel Phillips Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Cabbage Patch in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 288,000.00 (€ 177,085.85).
